Double celebration for SMB's birthday boy Charles Rhodes

MANILA, Philippines - It was no coincidence that Charles Rhodes' best game of the 2017 PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals came on Sunday's Game 3.

The ferocious import turned 32 years old on Sunday, and celebrated it by tallying 25 points, 20 rebounds, two steals, and a block in San Miguel's 109-97 win over the TNT KaTropa.

It was easily Rhodes' best game of the series, after scoring only seven points in their Game 2 win and seeing a 31-point, 13-rebound effort go to waste in their loss in Game 1.

"I just wanted to come out and work hard," said Rhodes. "Just try to help my team, and I did that. My team took care of the rest. I just added a little bit."

"I was still on defense," he also said. "That's my focus for this series. But I got a couple of shots to go, a couple of mismatches. It just fell that way."

Having such a good performance on his birthday thrilled Rhodes. "It's great, man. Words can't really describe it," he said.
