PBA Offseason Updates

- Rain or Shine signs up free agent Mark Telan

- Nic Belasco goes to Talk 'N Text, Rob Reyes goes to Red Bull and Larry Rodriguez goes to Coca-Cola

- Brgy. Ginebra traded Paul Artadi, Rafi Reavis and the rights to 8th pick Chris Timberlake for Enrico Villanueva, Rich Alvarez, Celino Cruz and Paolo Bugia of Purefoods. Burger King acted as the conduit team, trading Cholo Villanueva to Brgy. Ginebra and acquiring the rights to 2009 Rookie draft 18th pick Orlando Daroya and future picks.

- Purefoods released Richard Yee and Topex Robinson to free agency

- Burger King shipped their 3rd pick Chris Ross, guard Marvin Cruz and the 13th pick to Coca-Cola for Ronjay Buenafe and Coca-Cola's 2010 1st Round Draft pick.

- Barako Bull's Jeff Chan and Mike Hrabak traded to Rain or Shine for Rob Wainwright and Mark Andaya

- Jojo Duncil is now with Coca-Cola.

- Gabby Espinas traded to Sta. Lucia for Sta. Lucia's 2009 1st Round pick.

- Brgy. Ginebra released Junjun Cabatu, Macky Escalona and JR Aquino to free agency.

-Burger King's Marc Pingris traded to Purefoods for Purefoods' 2010 1st and 2nd Round Draft picks.

- Burger King's Arwind Santos traded to San Miguel for Marc Pingris, Ken Bono and San Miguel's 2010 1st Round draft pick

Malamang hindi na naman ipapalabas sa national TV ang battle for 7th place, Pinas vs Korea.

Ganyan na ganyan din nangyari sa last Asian Games, hindi lang nakapasok sa semifinals, naging throw-away game ang battle for 3rd. Wala ng bearing kasi, kaya 4th placer at that time, medalya na yun kahit papaano.

Masmaganda yung RP Developmental Team may 2 teams: Team-A & Team-B.

Since masikip na masyado ang PBA, pede naman ituloy ang career sa RP Team program, di ba?

Tignan nyo yung 2009 Draft, 50 aspirants tapos 19 lang ang nakuha.

im now here in orlando fl. and i could say that im proud to represent philippines in terms of basketball. im not that tall only stands 5'6 but i could that i gained the respects from other countries whenever i play basketball with them Americans, Puerto Ricans, Mexicans mostly Asians because among all of them we stand tall. im telling this because i know theres a lot more for those pba players to give i saw them play at the pba games and its a lot more far from performance there the way they play at fiba asia. the only player i saw who gave his best was Cyrus Baguio and Jared Dillinger so us James Yap although i was expecting more from him than shooting those 3s. when i talk to those guys we were playing with they said you represent your country better than those pba players because we were by far smaller than them but we were playing big... i hope in the future we could make it big again that we could find the right person who will represent the country those who has hopes, dreams not only for them selves but for the entire nation to achieve its ambitions its goals to gain respect to game they loved the most... but sad to think when?

Eksakto yung pagkaka-assess nung coach ng Qatar sa RP Team natin e, sabi niya 'Don't go hard on the Philippines, it means 'NOTHING' to them. There's no abmition, no goals.' Di ba? Wala talaga e, tama yung sabi ng iba, wag ng PBA players ang ipadala sa next time e. Bakit? Wala e, ingat lahat, ang tipid kumilos, kasi pag na-injury ka nga naman diyan, paano na yung 'milyones' na kikitain mo sa PBA. Wala talagang ambisyon at goal mag-excel sa international competition, di ba parang sabi laro lang sila pag panalo di panalo pag talo di talo, walang ambisyon at goal. Buti pa talaga yung isang team na lang ang isinabak diyan e, yung SMART Gilas at least yun may dedication kasi puro amateur pa, yung mga pros ala talaga, kamote, buti sana kung may mentality sila ni Samboy, Allan Caidic, Patrimonio, yung mga naunang batch ng PRO, talagang laban kung laban e. Ngayon wala, 'pera-pera lang'. As i said before para tayo mag-excel sa international games, una the program must improve, preparation must be more earlier, get a dedicated coach (yung sa RP Team lang talaga nakatutok), form a team na may magandang incentives at benefits na halos kapareho na ng nakukuha sa PBA, kailangan alisin na ang politika sa basketball, anay ito mga tsong at lastly yung all-out support ng government at private bodies na concern sa RP Team. Sa susunod pag ganito pa din ang sistema, wag na tayo aasa sa wala, ilang beses na kasing ganito e, kesyo, nag-iimprove na tayo, gumagaling na daw, pucha konswelo-de-bobo, ang tagal na nating ganito and yet the same excuses and consolation, e kailan pa mapu-fulfill yung improvements na yon na sinasabi di ba? Mga tsong it's been 20 years na yata since nagkaroon ng open basketball, ano another 20 years pa ulit para makapasok na tayo sa semis ng FIBA-Asia. Haaaayyyy, changes are ought to be made talaga, pag same system, kangkungan ulit....
